The World is poetry

Next Of The Poetry Series

Hey everyone, It’s your favorite short story writer, and poet. Announcements: Posting today This part of my mini collection (obviously), later today: A short realistic fiction piece entitled what you see is what you get. That is me roughly planning the post to go up at five hopefully. So be on the lookout for that. Now enjoy 203, 205, and 211. They’re entitled nonbinary, pride, and no gender.

#203 Nonbinary

I felt strange

In some ways I always knew

I guess understanding is a change

And I can’t imagine what it’s like for you

I was born in a binary body

With a nonbinary head

This forms feels shoddy

But, I’m not a man instead

I feel new

I feel better

Like I finally have a clue

Though I don’t follow to the letter

I’m still femme(innin)

I’m still me

I just go by they/them

I know it’s not what you want to see

I have felt it for at least a year

I have felt in my bones

Here’s a nonbinary person, hope you cheer

Now let’s go get ice cream cones.

#205. Pride

Say it loud

Say it proud

Say it for all to hear

Say it in a cheer

Speak in defiance, not out of shame

Speak to all, give it a name

Speak about love, Speak about power

Speak about it at any hour

Shout it from roofs

Shout out your truths

That no one should be forced to live in fear

That goes for everyone far and near

Whether you fit perfectly into a label

You deserve a seat at this table

For this no more scars on our wrist

For who we kiss or for just wanting to exist

211.No gender

If you see me sing love me tender

Remember love me with no gender

If you see me eating from a hot dog vender

Remember love me with no gender

If your kid is like me, don’t return to sender

Love them as you would me, with no gender

Maybe not if they went on a bender

But still love with no gender

Gender shouldn’t be the reason

That a kid should get love at any season

Doesn’t matter if a boy,a girl,both, in between

Or neither they all just want to be seen

Love in this way should be unconditional

Even if the kid’s not traditional

Love you family, love your kid

So their most beautiful secret is never hid
